Here's the set-up:

Are you prepared for what comes next?

Accustomed to a life of cosseted seclusion at home with his parents, Valentine is suddenly faced with making his own way in the world. His new life is quickly upended, however, when he's mugged at gunpoint. Finding shelter at a mysterious inn run by the dour Mrs. Anna, he soon encounters a Bosnian woman with a hole where her stomach used to be, an American entrepreneur with a scheme to implant televisions into people's foreheads, and a Catholic priest who attempts to lure him down inside a kitchen sink. Then things start getting strange...

In this story based loosely around the state of Bardo from The Tibetan Book of the Dead - an intermediate state where the dead arrive prior to rebirth - dying is the easy part. Getting out of Bardo and returning to the land of the living is a far more perilous proposition, and unless you know what you're doing...you might never leave.

An odd, yet oddly touching tale of life, death, and the space in-between.

From the reviewers:

"The End of the World is very much Alice in Wonderland meets Beetlejuice."  "Humorous, deceptively light and drier than dust."  "Jerky for the mind."  --The Compulsive Reader

"A surreal, clever literary novella."  "Weird, funny and philosophical - recommended."
--Helen Smith, author of Alison Wonderland, The Miracle Inspector, Being Light

Eccentric, surreal, and heart-warming.  If you can imagine your literary sensibility having feet, with one foot planted in surrealism and the other in existentialism, this book will tickle your toes in a singular fashion with its extravagantly eccentric banter. The story races along at a cracking pace, with barely a pause to draw breath.  -  P.J. Salisbury

Fun and quirky.  This is kind of a bizarre little novel, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. It's kind of hard to tell what's going on (though I had my suspicions), but it is not unpleasant. It's a fun quick read, and very well written.  -   Khrystine D. Kelsey

The author, a former Wall Streeter, pens a novel of suspense set among the towers where the traders and wheeler-dealers do their (often dirty) deeds.

Here's the set-up

Bull Street is the story of Richard Blum, a naïve, young Wall Streeter who gives a jaded billionaire the chance for redemption, as they team up to bring down an insider trading ring before they wind up in jail or dead.

An excerpt from Vaccine Nation, David Lender’s upcoming thriller, follows the text of Bull Street.

From the reviewers:

Bull Street has characters and plot turns that you think are stranger than fiction. Then you think about Wall Street (I've been there) and realize you can't make this stuff up because it happens. Imagine crooks in pinstripes schmoozing you out of your money while they thumb their noses at you when you turn your back. Imagine a firm bilking billions out of it's clients and using every dirty trick to cover it up. Even murder. Imagine a bunch of supposed masters of finance abusing their privileged position for their own profit. You can't? Then where were you in 2007-2008 when the world almost went bust? -- Schiller

Richard Blum is John Grisham's Mitch McDeere of The Firm who's landed in an alternate reality at Walker & Co. on Wall Street. And instead of the mob laundering money, the top guys at this Firm are coining it, through an insider trading ring. -- Penmark

Bull Street is an unblinking look at Wall Street as the background for a true thriller filled with suspense. It's got real emotion, the hard edges of the finance world and a story that builds with each chapter.  There are some interesting twists as Richard tries to clear himself. Well-plotted suspense, colorful characters, gritty dialog and action. --Harry Burbridge

Blood money on the Street.  Bull Street is a hard-boiled look at a tough place to make a living.  It's a great thriller full of wonderful characters. -- Liss

David Lender writes thrillers set in the financial sector based on his over 25-year career as a Wall Street investment banker. He draws on an insider's knowledge from his career in mergers and acquisitions with Merrill Lynch, Rothschild and Bank of America for the international settings, obsessively driven personalities and real-world financial intrigues of his novels. His characters range from David Baldacci-like corporate power brokers to Elmore Leonard-esque misfits and scam artists. His plots reveal the egos and ruthlessness that motivate the players in the financial sector, as well as the inner workings of the most powerful of our financial institutions.

David began writing novels over ten years ago. At one point a friend sent his first novel to a prominent New York literary agent, whose reaction was, "Not bad for somebody who doesn't know what he's doing yet." She introduced David to a seasoned thriller editor and publisher who had edited Robert Ludlum's first nine thrillers; David spent the next 18 months working with him to learn his craft.

Lacey Ames Comes To Washington DC With High Hopes, And Runs Smack Into Rampant Plots, Espionage, And Greed In This Satiracle Novel . Read A Free Sample Of Our eBook Of The Day, A FASHION OF BASTARDS, Without Leaving Your Browser!

Lacey Ames arrives in Washington DC with high hopes and great prospects.  But she's horrified at the double dealing, the back stabbing, and the greed of powerful enemies who care only for their own gain.  Meet the new darling of political espionage.

Here's the set-up for Joanna Louise Johnson's A Fashion Of Bastards, jut $2.99 on Kindle:

When Lacey Ames arrives in Washington to 'marry up' and take a job on Capitol Hill, she looks poised to capture the fast-fading American dream. Her handsome fiance has already hitched their wagon to Vice President Marvin's rising star, and her new boss, popular Senator George, has given her the assignment of her dreams: to protect the mysteriously dwindling Great Lakes.

Add to the mix old law school friend Jezzebo Karadjordje, the feisty bi-sexual author, and new friend Nelson Peck, the dashing but cynical linguist from the Kennedy-esque Peck-Adams clan, and Lacey has the beginnings of a posse to boot, not to mention a dazzling pool of tempting potential lovers that includes the infamously irresistible Senator George himself.

But Lacey soon wonders if anyone but her dog can be trusted as her new life collides with a secret government plot to gain total control of the world's largest oil supplies.

From solving a soldier shortage by drafting 'illegal' immigrants to selling a private pipeline into Lake Michigan and framing Japan for terrorism, Lacey's opposition will do absolutely anything to achieve their goals. The question is what will Lacey do to achieve hers? Nothing and no one is spared as A Fashion of Bastards drags current U.S. culture clashes over energy, immigration, gender ethics, warfare and water kicking and screaming to their logical, over-the-top conclusions.

From the reviewers:

Bounding onto the international literary scene is an alluring new force by the name of Joanna Louise Johnson. A Fashion of Bastards is nimble, quick-witted and absolutely irresistible.   So, toast the new darling of political intrigue and action. Even if you toast only with water, your first sip of Johnson's work will leave you thirsting for more. --The Culture Buzz

This author has emerged with such a creative force. She can spin, weave and string words in such a way that you are captivated from start to finish. Truth is stranger than fiction and I believe there is much truth in her book. If you like a dry sense of humor, espionage, fast paced, quick witted, entertaining reading then this book is for you. Enjoy! --J. Hart

From the very beginning I was running to keep up with a cast of wonderful characters in Washington D.C. who are either trying to save the world or control it at all costs. I found myself laughing out loud and simultaneously groaning. --Laura Sands

Great Green Political Parody--Robert T. Self

Is it true? That's what I kept wondering as I got deeper and deeper into A Fashion of Bastards. Everything in this fantastic satire of Washington insiders, is entirely plausible and definitely possible. --skyliner

Tokyo, October 2010: I settled into my flight from Paris to Chicago with "A Fashion of Bastards" intending to read a few chapters and catch a nap. But no, I simply could not put the book down. --One World Citizen

Dreams Collide And Passions Storm In A Florida Keys Romance. Read A Free Sample Of Our eBook Of The Day, ALL KEYED UP, Without Leaving Your Browser!

Here's the set-up for Mary Stella's All Keyed Up, just 99 Cents On Kindle:

A man with a plan, a woman with a dream -- two hearts on fire!

In this spirited, contemporary romance, undercover agent Jack Benton is on a mission to save his beloved aunt's failing dolphin facility in the Florida Keys. He's positive he can close a deal, until his sassy Aunt Ruby accepts the research proposal of world-renowned marine mammal scientist Dr. Vic Sheffield.

Now, Jack must cooperate with the project or break Ruby's heart.

More than the Keys' temperature heats up when Victoria Sheffield finesses her way into the facility under her famous father's name, hoping to finally establish her own reputation. A lifetime of behavioral observation hasn't prepared her for a suspicious, sexy homo-sapien like Jack.

She'll need every point of her elevated I.Q. to out-wit this wily alpha male. He knows she's hiding something and, in the meantime, more than his suspicions are aroused.

When dreams collide and passion storms, it's no wonder everybody's All Keyed Up!

A voracious book fan since first learning to read, I fell in love with romance novels while pursuing my B.A. degree in English decades ago.

A professional writer since someone first paid me to write radio commercials while I was still in college, I always dreamed of writing a book someday. Eventually, I realized that a book wouldn't spring fully written from my brain so I'd better get cracking.

All Keyed Up, a humorous contemporary romance set at a dolphin facility in the Florida Keys with a determined researcher and a stubborn DEA agent, is my debut novel, originally published in print format a few years ago.

Key of Sea, published a year later, proves that an ex-trophy wife can create a new life for herself, find love again with a younger man, and successfully battle land crabs.

I updated both of my books prior to releasing them electronically. I'm hard at work on a new project, which will also be set in the Florida Keys - the beautiful, fun, slightly abnormal island chain that I call home.

I love to hear from readers. Please email me at mary@mary-stella.com.
